The objective of the "Aerospace Factory Additive Manufacturing" is to run research and development projects and to train and safeguard the next generation of skilled workers. The founding partners have agreed to cooperate not only via research projects but as well by teaming up in a project house including a ‘3D printing pilot factory’ on the Ludwig Bölkow Campus. The founding partners plan to cooperate along the entire value chain from the design of component parts, the powder production, the additive manufacturing process including process simulation and post-processing, and the quality assurance.
